This edition of the Alphabet of Damianus Moyllus of Parma consisting of 350 copies, of which 300 are for sale, all on Arches paper, with text in Poliphilus and Blado types; printed by the Officina Bodoni, Montagnola Switzerland 1927. - Das auf den ersten Blick unsauber wirkende (und für die Officina Bodoni völlig untypische) Druckbild ist mutmaßlich der Qualität der Vorlage des Faksimiles geschuldet. - Der Nebentitel lautet: "The Moyllus Alphabet". - Unaufgeschnittenes Exemplar. - Provenienz 1.: Hope G. Weil (lithographisches Exlibiris von Kenneth Hobson für Weil auf dem vorderen Spiegel; dargestellt ist typisches Werkzeug eines Buchbinders wie Falzbeine, Messer, Stechzirkel, Kaschiereisen, Screw Punch, Vergolderollen, Fileten, Streicheisen, Stempel &c.); Hope G. Weil, 1900 bis 1986, US-amerikanische Buchbinderin. - Provenienz 2.: Hartmut Erlemann (Antiquar, 1948-2014; kleines typographisches Nachlaß-Exlibris auf dem hinteren Spiegel). - Der Einband minimal berieben; der Kopfschnitt mit der zartesten Andeutung von Flecken; das vordere fliegende Vorsatzblatt mit einem etwas unschönem Fleck; sonst und insgesamt gutes, gepflegtes Exemplar. - - - Uncut (virgin) copy. Facsimile edition. The "smears" in some pages of the facsimile seem to reflect the rather poor state of the original incunabula (and not the quality of the Officina Bodoni's work). - Minor wear to the boards and some foxing to the top edge; also one somewhat less beautiful stain to the flyleaf; otherwise and all in all a good copy.
