One of the more successfull works of the prolific chevalier de Mouhy (1701-1784), an English translation was published under the title that quite sums it up: "The busy-Body; or, the adventures of Monsieur Bigand, a man infinitely inquisitive and enterprizing, even to rashness; Which Unhappy Faculties, nevertheless, instead of ruining, raised him from the Lowest Obscurity, to a most Splendid Fortune.
