The Vasari biography and the documents are accompanied by notes of the editor, giving full up-to-date information. This book is designed to speak to the eye rather than the ear of the student, and does so by means of fine reproductions mostly in the size of the originals and as near to facsimiles as the finest photogravure can achieve.
