4°, circa 21,5 x 15,4 cm., Engraved portrait by Colombini after Sborgi, 15, CXX pp.. Contemporary full calf with richly gilded spine and decorated covers, gilded fore-edge Melzi II, 402. Rare and elegantly printed obituary for the count Solari (1690-1770) who was born into a wealthy family in Turin, married and had three children before he decided to give up all his possessions and live as a hermit in poverty. There is a biography and description of his exemplary piety followed by various poems in his honour.
