Jakob`s brother Everard Scheidius (1742- 1794), professor of oriental languages at the university of Harderwijk, "purchased Erpenius`s types from a certain Abraham Elzevier. He set up his own Arabic typesetting workshop, Scheidius became professor of Oriental languages at Leiden after the death of the last Schultens in 1793, but died the following year" (Arnoud Vrolijk, "Arabic Typography in the Netherlands.
